Our biggest asset is our employees. We proudly offer apprenticeship opportunities to those who strive for a career in concrete construction. Miller & Long employees are paid while attending classes, and the cost for training and materials is free.
Instructors with a combined total of 172 years of experience in cast in place concrete teach classes for our apprentice concrete form-building carpenters and reinforcing ironworker apprentices on weekday evenings in the DC Apprenticeship Academy in Washington, DC. Miller & Long apprentices are registered in the District of Columbia and are sponsored by the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Metro Washington. Apprentices also receive tower crane training and instruction at the Miller & Long Yard.
Concrete Form Builders are required to complete 288 hours of classroom instruction and 4,000 hours of on-the-job (OJT) training. Reinforcing Ironworkers are required to complete 432 hours of classroom instruction and 6,000 hours of OJT.
Our commitment to apprenticeship helps Miller & Long recruit and develop a skilled, professional workforce.
